Hi there! At yesterday’s craft meeting at my house we’ve made this cute Merci gift box. My friend Ineke Ruesink gave me such an adorable Merci gift box just before the Holidays. I LOVE IT, and I couldn’t keep my eyes of it. I've asked Ineke if she would be so kind to show us how to make this some day, and she said YES. After our craft meeting, I’ve posted all the gift boxes we’ve made on Facebook and on my blog, and within minutes I’ve received many requests for the directions.
FYI: This design is from Ankeline Bouman, Magazine 9/Gerda's Hobbyshop. You can find the original design from Francesca Franz (November 2012) here:
So, here comes the tutorial:
The measurements are all in centimeters. If you want to know it in inches, this is a helpful website:
Start with a piece of card stock: 7 x 30 cm
Score at 12,5 cm and 17,5 cm (photo)
For the little box inside the gift box we need a piece of card stock: 9,3 x 10 cm
Score at 2 cm on both sides (9,3 cm)
Score at 4 cm on both sides (10 cm)
And three pieces of card stock:
1 x 13 cm: 2x
2 x 13 cm: 1x
It should look something like this:

Then for the inside and outside of the gift box we need:
Designer Paper:
(I’ve used “Have a cuppa” DSP, Stampin’ Up!)
6,6 x 12,1 cm: 2x (outside of the gift box)
6,6 x 12,1 cm: 2x (inside of the gift box)
4,6 x 6,6 cm: 1x (under the little box)
3,6 x 4,9 cm: 2x (little box)
3,6 x 1,6 cm: 2x (little box)
The little box on the inside is filled with chocolate (6 pieces of the Merci chocolate):
Good luck, and have lots of fun making it! Let’s surprise a lot of people by giving them a handmade gift like this! Let’s make the world a better place!
Thanks for visiting my blog! Take care and have a wonderful day!
Hugs,
Laura
